NEWS: PXC?

Political parties are wasting their money fighting with who will do the best campaign. Who will attract more people?

So they record videos, go to their towns giving candies to the children and speeches to the adults.

But now, I want you to see this video:

This is the political party Plataforma per Catalunya, that became famous because of the Vic scandal (they wanted to push away the immigrants). Josep Anglada owns this party and has been criticized because of his xenophobic feelings.

Yesterday Vilanova i la Geltrú suffered the effects of this party. The racist and xenophobic PxC began to fight with some people who were in the town square complaining because of the presence of Josep Anglada. Gerard Bellalta, the candidate of PxC in Vilanova took a steel stick from a truck and began to hit the demonstrators. Obviously, they tried to protect themselves from his agressions.

And obviously, the Mossos d'Esquadra didn't do the work well and didn't act against mr. Bellalta, they arrested two demonstrators assaulted who were demonstrating against the racist conduct of PxC. Justice? I don't think so.

NEWS: EARTHQUAKE IN MURCIA

Every time we say "earthquake" we remember Japan and Fukushima nuclear station, but now is different. In Murcia, there were two earthquakes of 4,4 and 5,1º (Richter), they have been in Lorca, and they caused 10 deaths.

There are a lot of buildings affected, like San Diego's Church or the Tower of Lorca's castle.

On March 12 there was another earthquake of 2,8º and Lorca was the epicenter, where in January 2005 a 4,7º earthquake produced almost 1000 houses falling down in Zarcilla de Ramos and La Paca, that earthquake was followed with 500 aftershocks.

A lot of years ago Raffaele Bendandi said that this Wednesday Roma will be destroyed by an earthquake. I don't know the relation with Roma and Murcia or Lorca, but now there are some speculations on the social networks.

In Spain there are 2,500 earthquakes per year, but we just can notice 2 each month. There were some intense earthquakes, like the one that happened on August 24, 1356 that destroyed Sevilla or the Lisboa's earthquake, that brought a tsunami of waves of 15 meters. In 1829 it happened an earthquake of 9º Richter, that produced almost 1000 deaths and 3,000 buildings destroyed.

ABOUT TRANSEXUALITY

The last tuesday or thursday (I don't remember), TV3 did a TV programa with people that their body didn't fit with their mind, so they had an operation to change their sex.

They were talking about how they felt when they realised, for example a woman, that being a man was a mistake. What their family said, how she felt...

I don't think transexuality it's a funny thing. I mean, being not comfortable with your own body until you finally decide you are not of your biological sex it wouldn't be so funny. These people suffer depression, perhaps they argue with their families and if nobody is giving to them the support they need it could have a catastrophic consequences.

People has a wrong image of transexuality, they imagine them as depraved dragqueens wanting just sex when they just want to feel good in their body! What can we do if sometimes nature don't get the body right?

We must be conscious about they know that's not a game. Being not comfortable with your body it's important, we can't see them as a "pedophiles(yes, I heard this argument and I was like... what?)-that-they-just-want-sex-they're-not-people-they-have-a-problem".

What would happen if we were the ones who aren't right with their bodies?

Read this story, and watch the movie Boys don't cry, you will feel for an hour and a half how will you feel without the right body.

WHO IS REBECCA BLACK?

Rebecca Black is a 13 girl who made a song close to the maximum horror of the world.
Born on 1997, in Anaheim Hills, is an American pop "singer" who gained worldwide notoriety with her single: Friday (2011). Her mother paid $4000 to have a single and a music video through the record label ARK Music Factory.

This song, Friday, has been called as the worst song ever, and her video has received more than 139,000,000 visits on Youtube, but in it there are over than 2,000,000 "dislike" clicks.

Because of the success of the song, it has entered on the Billboard Hot 100 and other charts.

She gained a lot of millions with her song, and she donated them to Japan, that's a good thing!

"Friday" talks about going partying, that's a fact not so normal because she's just 13...

Rebecca Black has been a symbol of social media, like some forums and sites as Tumblr or 4chan, because she has been converted to a meme.

Here you can hear a parody of her song, hilarious!

And finally someone has tried to improve Black's version, covering "Friday" in the same way that Bob Dylan would do.

THE 27 CLUB

Do you know who is Janis Joplin? Jim Morrison? Well, you must know who is Jimi Hendrix! Or Kurt Cobain...

All of them died at the age of 27, and they were all forming a group of influential rock and blues musicians.

There are more people who died at the age of 27, but they are the "main characters" of this club.

The 27 Club, Forever 27 Club or Club 27 is a name for a group of famous rock and blues musicians who all died at the age of 27.

There are like two groups of 27 Club: the first is a list of five famous rock musicians who died at age 27. In the second group there are another artists, not so important people, but they also died at the age of 27.

Let's see the firsts victims of the 27 Club:

BRIAN JONES: Lewis Brian Hopkins Jones (1942-1969) was a English musician. He found a rock band called The Rolling Stones, do you know them? ;)
Some friends of him were Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, John Lennon or George Harrison.
He died having drowned in a swimming pool, maybe someone had killed him! It is not clear...

JANIS JOPLIN (1943-1970): she was a blues and rock and roll singer, maybe one of the bests singers of all the time. She was a symbol of Hippie times during the sixties. You should listen some songs of her, Mercedes Benz, Ball and Chain, Piece of my heart, Try, Me and Bobby McGee or Cry Baby. She died of a heroin overdose, after being out of drugs for a while.

JIMI HENDRIX (1942-1970): one of the big ones if we talk about guitar players. He was an American guitarrist and singer song-writer. He is widely considered to be the greatest electric guitarrist of all the times. He died after mixing sleeping pills and wine, he began to asphyxiate because of his own vomit.

JIM MORRISON (1943-1971): he was the frontman of the psychedelic rock band The Doors. He used to mix alcohol, marihuana and LSD. He finally died as heart failure, but nobody practised an autopsy to him.

KURT COBAIN (1967-1994): the singer and guitarrist of the music band Nirvana left the world after a drug addiction and feeling an unhappy man, he left this world leaving alone his wife and daughter, killing himself by shotgun.

After these people, they are another artists, a lot of them dead because of drugs or car accidents, such as Jesse Belvin, Dickie Pride, Gary Thain, Jacob Miller or Bryan Ottoson.

NEWS: ELIZABETH TAYLOR, REST IN PEACE

There are a lot of actors and actress in Hollywood, but Elizabeth Taylor now is a legend. When I say Liz Taylor you remember the Hollywood's golden times: the beauty personified, parties non-stop, hangovers everyday, jewels, big diamonds and the most important thing: decades of talent and elegance.

Further than her violet eyes, her seven husbands and eight marriages (she repeated with Richard Burton), Taylor has been a very good actress, who received two Oscars for Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf? and BUtterfield 8.
After her 70-years-career and 50 movies, some people will remember her because of her figure, some people because of her talent. For the first ones, Taylor has died today in Los Angeles because of a heart attack. Her beauty was hiding a fragil health: she had more than 20 operations, she was diabetic and she won to a tumour and a skin cancer, but she never lost her smile.

For the second group of people, she will stay on her movies: from Little Women to Cleopatra, from Cat on a tin roof to Suddenly, last summer...

She was born in London, February 27 1932. Her dad had opened an art gallery in that city; her mom, actress, left the stage after Lizbeth's birth. In 1939 they came back to the United States when the Second World War began, and they began to live in Los Angeles.

Her jump to the fame was thanks to a friend of the family that realized how beautifulshe was and decided to take her to Universal. They agreed and there did her debut with There's one born every minute, before going to MGM.

Rest in peace, Liz

CHARLIE SHEEN ON TWITTER... RUN AWAY!

If you still don't know who's Charlie Sheen I answer your question: do you remember TWO AND A HALF MEN? He's Charlie Harper, bachelor, jingle's songs writer and alcoholic.

In his real life he's a crazy man. He was a really successful actor of the 80's but his crazy life drove him to drugs, rehab, and some mediatic scandals. He ruined his career, and Two and a half men helped him to come back to fame. In 1990, he aaccidentlly shot his fiancee in the arm. Obviously, Preston, the girl, broke off the engagement...

After this episode of his life, he dated a number of adult film actresses, having sex and all that stuff, mixing drugs and other scandals. Five years later he married with another woman, while he was one of the clients of an escort agency.

On 1998 he arrived to the top of his life (getting high) and Sheen overdosed while he was injecting cocaine (just for experimenting. Wtf?). He was hospitalized and then he entered in a rehab clinic.

We can situate Sheen's life now on 2000s, he got married again, but his ex-wife filed for divorce, because she accused Sheen of alcohol and drug abuse and threats of violence.

He ended 2009 again in a rehab center and in jail.

Because of his drug troubles, the sitcom Two and a half men has been "damaged". It had to be on hiatus some times because of the breaks Sheen had to do because of cocaine, but finally CBS&Warner Bros decided to stop Charlie Sheen's services. He was well paid, he signed a agreement to return to the sitcom, and they would pay $1,8 million per episode.

That's what drugs sometimes do. Make you crazy. He can enjoy a good life but mixing these substances are not helping him. Sincerely, I like Two and a half men. It's a fun sitcom and when I see it, I can laugh easily. For this reason, knowing Charlie Sheen (by the way, son of Martin Sheen) does drugs makes me sad, because he's a good actor and he has got a lot of talent.

Now he started being on Twitter, here's the link: http://twitter.com/charliesheen

CAU

Since the last year I started going to a Cau -an escort movement- from Figueres, called Xiprers al Vent with another people of Castelló. We are there because we want to open one here. I've never been before in a place like this, and I like it a lot.

We are all together and there are some words children have always in their minds: respect, help, share and have fun. They don't get angry when they can't catch another kid when we play "mataconills", for example.

Imagine the situation: a lot of children playing like they are home, there's no kid without friends, it's like a huge family! "Caps" (like teachers...) organise activities each Saturday with an objective. They don't do nothing without an objective. For example, I am in the castors' group and we always work on recycling and saving nature.

I won't regret joining this Cau, because the people is so kind, they help us a lot and we try to help them too, but we're not professionals! We do what we can...

GADAFFI...

We could say that Gadaffi has been thirty years having the power. And during these years have been good things to Libya, some bad. But no one has noticed so far that interested in talking about the problems of this country.

Now, all western countries want to give lessons in democracy, progress and tolerance when their interests have been damaged by the revolutions of the citizens of Libya.

Now is when European and American governments are good, liberal and support the revolution against the dictator.

I don't think that this sudden urge to marginalize Gadaffi is selfless, some force that we know they must have promised something more powerful than the mandate of the dictator of Libya, who for thirty years that dominates the different countries concerned in their country.

We all know that Libya has oil. A lot of oil. And we all know that Europe needs tons of oil a day for you, who now is reading this, and I, who is writing it so that you know it, we make a life that we describe as "normal."

The Libyan people have been tortured, censored and forgotten for thirty years and the most powerful countries have silent. I always end up with the same, we are hypocrites, that's it. All governments remain hand in hand behind the great American government, because behind it nothing wrong can ever happen.

Now we are all good and supportive. Spain stops selling weapons to the Gaddafi's armyi Oh, look how good we are! The other countries should learn from us. We have broken a state thanks to the weapons of our country and never ask for forgiveness. Because that's the way how we are: Assh*les. We're still waiting for the forgiveness of all those who committed atrocities seventy years ago that will never arrive. But we remain good and respectful.

We pretend that we are so liberal when we are in the backwards of Europe. We believe we are like God when we help people that need it, and it can't be good in any way. We will pay for this.

MISFITS

Today I want to talk about Misfits, a comedy-drama series about a young offenders forced to work in a community service programme, where they realise they have supernatural powers after a strange storm.

Kelly can read the thoughts of others, Curtis gains the ability to rewind time when he feels an immense sense of regret, Alisha sends people into a sexual frenzy when they touch her skin, and Simon can become invisible. Nathan doesn't get any power at first time, but he finally is immortal.

In the first episode, the Misfits are attacked by their probation officer who is affected by the electrical storm, and they kill him in self defense. The principal problem of the first series is trying to stop anything else finding out about the muder. That's why they kill some other people to keep hiding the secret.

Nathan is on community service because he stoled some candies, Kelly fought with another girl, Alisha drove her parent's car without license after doing drugs, Curtis was a famous sportsman but he ruined his carrier because of drugs. Finally, Simon burned a house.

I first saw Misfits some months ago, after watching Skins, because I needed some stories from E4 channel, and now I love it! Nathan, maybe the main character, has a really curious personality and I love it.

Egypt: uninstalling dictator

Egypt’s three-decade ruler Hosni Mubarak has left the country, noting an address he is scheduled to deliver in a few hours is taped, media reports said quoting Presidential sources.

The reports by presidential sources came on Thursday on the heels of remarks by Hossan Badrawi, the general secretary of Egypt's ruling National Democratic Party, who said Mubarak will “probably” address the nation in the evening.

He told state-funded BBC that he hopes Mubarak will transfer power to Vice President Omar Suleiman.

Unconfirmed reports also said Mubarak had already travelled to the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh with his army chief of staff.
Other reports indicated that the Egyptian army has taken over presidential powers, saying it supports the legitimate demands of people and that it is taking measures to protect the people.

Essam al-Erian, a senior member of the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt's biggest opposition group, said he feared that the Egyptian military was staging a coup.

“It looks like a military coup ... I feel worry and anxiety,” he told Reuters. “The problem is not with the president, it is with the regime.”
Egyptian state television showed images of Mubarak sitting behind a desk in silence while Suleiman talked. It was not immediately clear when it was filmed, though the channel said the meeting was happening now.

(Source: here)

It has been a surprise, because yesterday he denied going out of the country. But today, the revolutionaries can celebrate their victory. After thirty years suffering a dictatorship, they are finally free.

But the question I have in my mind is: why we didn't realised Egypt was suffering? I mean, now we are so happy because they have the chance to make a new government team, and, for example, Barack Obama or Zapatero were so proud saying "oh yes, we support the revolutionaries, we must fight for democracy"... really? Nobody noticed Egypt situation since somebody thought it would be a good story to explain on the news around the world. I don't know, maybe I don't know too much about politics but I find this situation so hypocritical.

NEW YEAR'S EVE

I've finished 2010 in a different way... I always was at home in New Year's Eve, or at grandparents', but this last time I said it was enough, so I innovated my plans!

I went to Girona with a friend of mine, Roser, and with her friends. I only knew three or four guys from the party, who were really kind with me, like the other people.

We went by train to Girona where we found some stupid girls singing inside the coach, but we arrived in a good mental state (joking...).

We had a lot of fun and Clara's parents (we were all in her house) prepared some cute papers where we had to write our wishes to 2011 and burn them.

2010 has been a magical year, my life went better after that year and I won't let this year ruin my life! I hope I can pass 2nd Batxillerat and go to Barcelona.
I want my friends this year, too, because it won't be a fantastic 2011 if they are not by my side!

My favourite picture

2nd Batxillerat: first impressions

Last year I did something like that, telling my opinions to everyone who was reading my blog... so I was talking alone, haha.

The first term is almost over and there's no doubt that this three months have been the most stressing months EVER! Work, work, work, work, work, exams, exams, research project, work, more work, a lot of exams, and mooooooooore work!! We got stressed some times, like we are now!

And today me, and I guess more people, feel like the last five years in ESO and First Batxillerat were like a joke. If I compare just a week this year with a whole term of 1st Batxillerat... I just can't compare! I've never felt this stress, and I think it's too bad and shows the bad conditions of our education system. The effort and perseverance had never appeared, since this september. And now we are fed up of 2nd batxillerat with just three months...

Anyway, we hope that when we finish the Research Project all that stress will disappear, but then we will have to wait for SELECTIVITAT EXAMS!!!

If we success we have to be so proud, because all the effort we will put on this year worth it!

Choose

"Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players, and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance. Choose fixed-interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisure wear and matching luggage. Choose a three piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing sprit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing you last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked-up brats you have spawned to replace yourself. Choose your future. Choose life... But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life. I chose something else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who need reasons when you've got heroin?"

I don't want to analyse Trainspotting. But the opening scene of the film makes me think about life. What we are supposed to do in life?

My father is always telling me "don't disappoint me"; my mother says "you are young, have fun". Both say: "you must do what we couldn't".

I think that's pressure for us. We are the owners of our life, there shouldn't be anybody pressing us with words like that. What's a disappointment for our parents? Don't do the homework? Smoke? Drink at parties? Think what they don't respect? When I think about that I feel sick.

Weren't they young? Sometimes it seems they were always like now. I sometimes need a little bit understanding, but it seems that's difficult for them.
I'm not saying parents are bad, because they are not.

And what's a model life? Why we all have to do the same? Is this the product of a closed mind or is the future that everybody expects for their child?

I think humans are sufficiently clever to choose our life, independently of the other people, but when we choose another way, we are weird people, we are the typical people that parents say "you must study because you can't drive your life as his life".

It's something to think a lot... always choosing! Choose: being the strange or a sheep following the flock?

Pope Benedict consecrates Barcelona's Sagrada Familia

Pope Benedict XVI has consecrated Antoni Gaudi's unfinished church, the Sagrada Familia, as a basilica in the Spanish city of Barcelona.

The Pope sprinkled holy water on the altar before a congregation of more than 6,500 people. Gaudi's greatest work has been under construction for more than a century, and will not be finished before 2026.
The current chief architect said he hoped the Pope's visit would provide the boost needed to finish the work.
Before leaving for Rome from Barcelona's El Prat airport, Pope Benedict called on Europe's Catholics to renew their faith.
"May this faith find new vigour on this continent and become a source of inspiration," he said at the end of the two-day visit.
In his earlier homily, he again criticised divorce, same-sex marriage and abortion.
He was seen off by dignitaries including Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia.

Source: BBC

I don't agree the Pope's visit in Barcelona. It's obvious he came because there are economic interests, and it has moved a lot of money... but I can't understand... in this country there is a lot of unemployment, how they could waste more than 4.000.000 euros just with the security of the Pope? And more money with tickets to enter into the Sagrada Familia to see him...

I'm atheist, but I understand if some people believe in God... but how can someone believe in Catholic Church? How? They got a lot of power centuries ago and now they don't want to accept the society is changing and what they say is getting obsolete.

Actually they NEVER preach with the model of Jesus, helping the poorest people with hope, the Catholic Church just gain money and tell to people with strong faith what they can do and they cannot.

How the hell they want to give us moral lessons if we know they used to practicate pederasty? How the hell can we respect them if they compare Spanish atheism with the anticlericalism of '30, where it had burned churches and killed priests? Just a ignorance show and want-attention.

They are scared and are trying to stay in the society but it won't be possible. We are changing. Really... do they think that in the actual society the young people won't use the condom? Do they think that a teenage girl will ruin her life having a baby? Do they think that we are more open-minded than before, and there is no problem is we fall in love with another girl or boy? I mean, of the same sex than us? What the fuck???

Years ago...

I remember myself when I was a child, in my grandparents' house, with my aunt and my uncle. I remember they were so young and they were 60's and 70's music addicts. Their bedrooms were full of posters of Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison and I used to cry when I saw their faces on every wall, it scared me!! I grew up listening songs of Big Brother & The holding company because my aunt was always listening to them.

I can remember four walls and a lot of Janis on them. There are still a lot of posters; On the bed there's a giant poster of Janis singing with the eyes closed. There is a paint of the singer, too and a beautiful poster of Janis and her friend Grace Slick from Jefferson Airplane.
Years ago there was a giant poster of Jim Morrison, the most famous picture of him. It was scaring.

Sometimes my aunt explain to me how difficult was buy a LP from her favourite bands, and how she and my uncle took the train and went to Barcelona to waste their savings buying Long plays...

And now, at my -almost- seventeen years old I think I am following their steps! I can't get tired of listening Janis or Jefferson Airplane, I feel curiosity and I try to discover more bands and singers: Bob Dylan, The Mamas and the Papas... yes, it's so different the kind of music, but I like it!

But my most special singer is Janis Joplin. It's just amazing her voice and what she could do with it... she took drugs, heroin and weed, but her voice never sound bad!! We can't say she hadn't talent!

"You have a very good English"

When you learn something, you like the people recognizes it and that makes you proud!

In my experience, I can tell it's true. Well, I experienced that before, when I was doing maths... I was the worst doing anything with numbers and when I understood something I almost cried! But I always failed. Hehe.

Well, that's not my topic! Some months ago I was walking on the street to the bus station of Castelló, because I was studying German in Figueres, When I felt something behind me. I was listening to music, so I couldn't hear anything else. Finally I turned and I saw a couple in a car. I came closer to the window while I was thinking "oh no! French?! I don't want to answer anything to French people!!", I don't know French and I usually don't like French people. Anyway, I gave them a smile and they said: Sant Pere Pescador?

Then I realized that the steering wheel was on the right side. I wanted to look their license on their car, but I said YES! They're English!!

I began to tell to them how to arrive to the town, "you have to go to the right, then you will find like a circle, then you go to the left, and...", and suddenly the man said "We've been here many times ago... and you have a very good English!". I just said "thank you!!" and I continued to explain the way to Sant Pere.

It's cool when you realize that you know how to do something, it cheers you up to continue doing it and improving a little bit everyday :)

Repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell

What's Don't Ask, Don't Tell?

It's the common term for the policy restricting the U.S.Military from efforts to discover or reveal closeted gay, lesbian and bisexual service members or applicants.
What means that? In the United States military people who l
ikes people of the same sex have to keep secret their sexual orientation, and nobody can ask it. The policy of "Don't Ask, don't tell" prohibits anyone who "demonstrate a propensity or intent to engage in homosexual acts" from serving in the armed forces of the U.S.A. because "it would create an unacceptable risk to the high standards of morale, good order, discipline and unit cohesion that are the essence of military capability".

So anybody gay, lesbian or bisexual can disclose their sexual orientation or talking about homosexual relationships while they're serving in the United States armed forces.

At this moment, there is a campaign against this policy: Repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell, which is doing some pressure to Obama to stop this stupid law.

When I know what was this law about, I was like "what???". What a discriminatory thing! How could the government of U.S.A. let the captains of the military service choose to send off the people who's gay? Aren't they giving their lifes to their country? It's stupid make differences between an homosexual and an heterosexual, because it's not true that one is cleverer than the other, or if there are not gays in the army will be more order...

I hope it changes soon, and obviously, I can shout Repeal don't ask don't tell!!

Hey little rich girl

Every time I have to decide a new address for a new blog I turn on my iPod shuffle and I choose the first song in English that appears. This year is Hey Little Rich Girl, originally from The Specials, but this time covered by Amy Winehouse.

I like this song because it remembers me to one of my idols, Edie Sedgwick, the first Warhol's "superstar".

Amy Winehouse is one of my favourite singers, she has her own style and yes, maybe she has got a lot of problems with drugs and that stuff, but that is no excuse to despise her talent.

I finish my little entry with the song, I hope you like it!

And welcome to my blog.
